Crazy Eddie Documents

Note: The court’s docket contains two copies of Judge Ackerman’s opinion. The copy originally docketed in March 1999 as Document 205 runs 121 pages and is missing printed pages 68–71, 101, and 104–106, with the text breaking off mid-sentence at each gap — among the missing material is the court’s finding on the fiscal 1987 Wren inventory cut-off scheme. A complete 128-page copy was filed in November 2000 as Document 273 and matches the published text at 15 F. Supp. 2d 477 (D.N.J. 1998). The link above originally served the incomplete Document 205 and was updated on September 7, 2026 to the complete Document 273, at the same URL. Researchers who previously verified citations against the incomplete copy may have wrongly concluded that passages on the missing pages do not appear in the opinion.

Although these pages were absent from the docketed copy for over two decades, the events described on them — the fiscal 1987 Wren cut-off, the Zazy International transactions, and the calculation of the ‘gap’ between Crazy Eddie’s real and reported results — have long been documented on this website’s Crazy Eddie Fraud pages, based on my first-hand account.
